After that we descends more things about sugar. Did you know that a average person eats 6g of sugar and a New Zealand person eats 96g of sugar?

We read some more information about sugar, like a child is supposed to eat only 6g or they would gain wight.

Making a Light Switch

Image result for light bulbOn Wednesday 17th of June we went to tech. We used the same tools, the battery and the lamp station. To change it up this time we had to use a voltmeter, a switch and clip wires. The aim was to make a circuit only with equipment we were given. My method was to double my positives to my negatives and double my negatives to my positives. The result was that when you switch the light on the voltmeter would go up and if you turn it off the voltmeter would go down. We also made our diagram about our work

Knee Deep

For our 2nd week of term 2 we were finally at school. The first book we read was called Knee Deep, it is a story about a disaster that happened in Christchurch on February 2011.

Part of the story
There were lots of collapsed buildings, chocking clouds of dust and tonnes of spilled raw sewage. For over the next six months part of the city wastewater system was fixed together but it needed to be repaired permanently. Unfortunately so did everything else in Christchurch.

What I wrote
Sat: Page 1 & 2
Does anyone remember the earthquake disaster at Christchurch immediately after the February 2011. Earthquake, distressed people, collapsed buildings, clouds of choking dust. What was more difficult to capture was the impact of thousands  of tonnes of spilled raw sewage .Of course they people of Christchurch understood this all too well.

Saving Energy at Home

Smart Bulbs | Philips HueToday for tech we learned about how to save energy. For our first task we had to list the 10 things that use power in our house, I listed laptop, Chromebook, fan, PS4, and more. We also had to list the 10 places that use power I listed KFC and the Internet Cafe.

For our main subject we used a battery and wires to light up the bulb circuit, the method was to put the positive to the negative and the negative to the positive.

The result was the light turned on, we watched a video and we had to  out how they saved power. I wrote you should turn the things not you're using off and to share energy so you don't use that much.

Making a Salad Bowl

For our forth time at food tech we made a salad bowl. This time Texas, Fabian and I were in a team. Texas cut the cucumbers very thin, the lettuce and the carrots in finger sizes, while Fabian and I shred the chicken. We wore gloves so none of our germs got onto the chicken, and well Texas was cutting he constantly checked on our noodles so they were just right. We also had an option to put on some rice on top, after that we put on the dressing and ate!

The Trip to Hamlinis Hill

Last week on Friday we went on a school trip to visit some pests, because for the past few days we were researching about pests. Our tour guide Frazier introduced us to some traps well we were walking up the hill.
This one trap called A-24 was more efficient and advance than the others because it could shot up to 24 times and kill 24 pests in 1 month. Most of the trap contained punt butter like the A-24, that would lure the pests to the trap and kill them. Also some traps would tell you what kind of pests there was around forest. We also had so binoculars that we could look at the traps from a far and we sower some dead pest.

The Cogken

We just watched A performances about the Cogken. My favourite part was when the Cogken was thinking that he didn't fit in with the humans. It was also funny when Bex was holding the bar her mum gave to her, the Cogken rush in and ate it in slow mosh in the people at the school started laughing. Also how the Cogken was racing around, with Bex and Duffy, and tried to catch the Cogken. At the end we started singing to make the Cogken come back.
